We had a great day on Friday completing our sponsored walk around Castlewellan Lake. From Reception to Primary Seven the pupils were absolutely brilliant and a credit to our families and school. This was highlighted at the Maze when some American tourists commented on how well-mannered and behaved the children were. As planned the walk started at the entrance to the park. We had a brief unplanned comfort stop! When for a few minutes Mrs Nicholls and Mr Hardy were worried they had lost all the children and staff on the walk into the Park! As they were waiting at the Lake for the pupils to arrive. Once everyone was found, safe and well at the toilets in the main car park the walk resumed. On the way round the lake we found some evidence of the US soldiers stationed in the Park during the Second World War. At the top of the Lake we had our break and rest. Then the big march back to the car park. We did stop briefly to look at the Icehouse. When back at the main car park the pupils received their well-deserved treat and rest, before heading up to the Maze and Play ground for more fun!
